In the end of the 1960 , a Nigerian ship named Oban Ovenramwhen was beached on the Carpentersrock near Freetown (Siera Leone) when i inspected the Nigerian ship on the rock i find some old ships parts/plate after we towing the ship of the rock, whe asked some ships agents in Freetown about the old ships parts
on the Carpentersrock, and one of them told us there come from a Elder Demster ship the Adda, so dear members if you have more information please let me know.

Adda torpedoed and sunk by U107 on 8th June 1941 off Freetown Harbour entrance. 10 crew and 2 passengers lost. Captain of U boat was Korvettencapitan Karl-Heinz Fritz son in law of Admiral Karl Donitz.

My earlier information was a little incorrect in that the U boat captain was Gunther Hessler, who was the son in law of Karl Donitz. Karl Heinz Fritz was Captain when U107 was sunk in 1944.
I cannot throw any light on Carpentersrock.

During 1960s I worked as a rigger on the Nigerian ship OBA OVERAMI in Tilbury Docks...A few months later she was at Tilbury again with the name OBAN OVERAMWHEN,at least I was told it was the same ship...
I was told she was originally a Dutch owned ship and built in 1948 ...
I have a photo as OBA OVERAMI but do not know how to attach,.
