Old Newspaper articles on Leanders in the early 90's

When I was back home in the UK sorting through some old stuff I came across these newspaper cuttings. Most are from the Evening Herald in Plymouth in the early 90's. Completely forgot I had them but thought some one on here may find them of interest.

At least these ships served a decent life for the RN. Most in their late 20's, unlike the ships today being sold off after half their life. Nice to see Andromeda is still serving for the Indian navy

I cant belive how cheap they purchased Andromeda. A fully functioning ship at the time!! I would have bought it myself and lived on her. Even with the mooring fees it would be cheaper than buying a house today!!

Many thanks for bringing back so many memories ,i was on the SCYLLA when she was a Leander before there refits.

My thanks also MACCA for the memories. Like 'Scylla' Yorky Jim 'Aurora' was still a gun Leander when I served in her. Good ship, good crew and would happily do it all over again if I could.
