I'm an ex-Brocklebank (British Merchant Navy) engineer and whilst in Colombo in 1962 met and made friends with a Lt. (jg) Dave Engen. He was on a US Navy ship called "Duxbury Bay". They had to put into Colombo to get some repairs done to one of their engines (Fairbanks-Morse if memory serves correctly). The problem was with a turbo-charger I believe. I know it's a very, very long shot but does anyone know of Dave Engen or is there any way I could find out where he is? It would be incredible to get in touch with him after all these long years. The story I was told about "Duxbury Bay" was that she was an ex-WW2 seaplane tender converted to a sort of Admirals barge and was used to tour round US Navy Fleets in the Far East. Is this true? Cheers! Phil Roe
