Hi and welcome to Ships Nostalgia.Liked Ropner ships;one of the few companies that suited green.STONEPOOL was my favourite for looks although as I/m always quick to acknowledge,sometimes reality is different.
Enjoy looking around and you never know who is out there........

hi mike yes i was in a couple of them mv troutpool and mv wandby both long trips ,a couple of deck crowd jumped in nz this was in 1960 on the troutpool it was a good job the wandby was good as well,we did thetimber run from vancouver to east coast of the states then coal from norfolk virginia to japan we even dry docked over there.over 12 months of pure bliss happy days allan webster ex grimsby now nz

Hello Mike

I sailed with Ropners from 1978 to 1984. I remember seeing some of your photos of Ropner ships on another site. Of the older ships, I sailed on the Thirlby twice and the Stonepool.

Hope to see some of your photos posted on this great site.
