This dear old lady still keeps cropping up! In fact there's a photo of her in this very room as I sit !!!! Looks very much like an American type tug to me. Maybe I'm wrong long time ago.....John g

Is that an "M" or a "K" on the funnel? Looks American in design.

No courtesy flag visible on Mahout so that puts her in the UK . I would go with Jim's Thames tugs, ship heading for Tilbury docks.

Funnel badge is actually a replica of a red and white check houseflag on a black funnel

With your help i think to have recognize the company: William Watkins Ltd
(ship Towage ltd) Funnel black with broad red band over a narrow blue band
with the houseflag of the original Dick & Page Company thereon.Houseflag:
red swallowtail with white w.Hull :black with white line and green boot-topping.
