Did they ever solve the problems of scavage fires on the Cormorant.
Where didI see the list of the Cormorants officers in 1965?

Jim,

I have crew lists ( essentially staff) for vessels leaving Drydock July to Mid August 1965 including the Cormorant. Skipper E.M.Lawson, C/E G.J.Donaldson and down to Donkeyman

Sailed on the Cormorant as 3/E, joined Falmouth July '70, paid off IOG Dec'70.
Great runner in my time, not even a hint of a scavenge fire. Good crowd. Only ones I can remember are 2/E Arthur Salmon, and Old Men Donald MacFarlane then Pete Harrison. Runs were mainly UK Coast and Med.
Regards, James.

That will be C/E Arthur Salmon who retired quite a few years ago as one of the seriously senior Chiefs - yeesh - I thought he had been born with 4 stripes

Yes, he was only a "Deucer" when I sailed with him. A good bloke, and I learned a lot from him.

Arthur Salmon was an ex BP Engineering apprentice circa 1957 at Bolton Tech ( makes me feel old).

Never come across him in my searchings, earliest note I have him reaching 2/E was Laurel 1969 and Resolution C/E 1984 but I guess it was highly likely he made those ranks earlier than those dates.
