Mauretania II

I have recently bought a converted ship's lifeboat from that came from the Mauretania II, it was originally converted into a motor sailor cruiser in the late 40's and now I am refitting it.

I would be interested in anything about the Mauretania II and particularly its lifeboats that anyone can provide.

Someone recently said that originally this lifeboat was propelled like a giant pedalo is that right?
