I am trying to find details of a passenger ship "GERMAN" which carried one of my relatives departed 6 May 1893 from Southampton to Cape, SA.
I located her passage on findmypast.com and it gives the registered tonnage as 1822, the square feet as 2286 and passengers onboard as 145. The Master's name was W Martin. Normally an official number is give for the ship but this one is shown as 0.
I don't think she was the "German2", hastily renamed at the start of WW1.
Can anyone please help?
