I have been searching for pictures of these two ships for a long time so far with no success. I served in them both in 1958. Can anyone please help?

Hello again, Glancon
Unsure of which Kylebrook in 1950s, but I do know someone who has a picture of the Bankstone, if it is the
EMPIRE VILLAGER
2,066 g.t., built 1943 by Grangemouth Dockyard Co for MOWT.
1946 GRIT, F. T. Everard & Sons, Greenhithe.
1957 BANKSTONE, Bankstone Shipping Co (Stone & Rolfe Ltd, Swansea)
1959 SAVER, Virtu SS Co, Malta.
1965 CHRISTOYANNIS, Marespuma Cia. Nav., Panama. (A. Venetsyanos, Greece)
1967 (Ann Poulos, Greece)
1967 Scrapped at Perama
I can write to him if it is the one.
Best Wishes, Raymond

Just looked in Waine & Fenton ...
do you mean the ex ALGOL built 1924, by W Dobson & Co?
If so there is a surveyor's drawing of KYLEBROOK in the book,
together with a fine photograph (Skyfotos).
Best Wishes, Raymond

Hello tell/treeve, thanks for your replies. Captain Donnen was still the Skipper during my time on the Kylebrook.
That was the same Bankstone you describe, I did know she had been one of Monroes. I would be grateful if you are able to get a copy of the photo.
I cannot say if the Kylebrook was the Algol or not really.

I can verify that the Kylebrook was the Algol, and she still had her bell fitted

I have not had a reply from my friend in Australia.
It does not bode well for his health. I will write again.
