as my grandad mike makinson. he was a apprentice for brocklebank between 1944-1948. he was 17 when he started.
he served on the-
Matheran III for 3 voyages
Mahronda III for 3 voyages
Maidan III for 1 voyage.

Hi Jacko!
Anyone on the same ships would have to be, at least, 18 in 1945 (say) - that would make them around 80 now.
Wonder how many 80 year olds are in this forum!
Good luck anyway, you might just strike lucky.
By the way, he picked a hell of a time to start his sea career - you might want to check the war history of those ships!

Jacko,
I was apprentice with Brocklebank's from 1944-1948 and am now aged 79. I was 16 when I started on the Masirah in 1944. I remember your Grandfather's name but we never sailed together.
