It may be politically incorrect to some, but may they rest in peace.
After all, they were only doing their ordered duty, just as our lads were too!
At least their families, if any still remain, will have closure on where they rest.

Strange reading the reaction of the Germans after the sinking. I saw a program on tv recently about a ferry out of an east coast port that rammed and sunk a German submarine during the first world war and narrated by Ian Hislop, later in the war the ferry captain was captured then shot as a war criminal. I wonder if this had any bearing of our treatment of the U 12 crew.
