The STOCKHOLM is still afloat and now called "ATHENA" sailing for Classic International cruises.

Seen here at Harwich Cruise terminal 2006

Wasnt there a famous story about a baby being found in the twisted bow of the Stockholm when she got back to port. The baby had come from the Andrea Doria and was jammed in the wreckage, lucky survivor.

I don't know about a baby going from one ship to the other, but I have a book which stated that the bow of the Stockholm lifted a bed out of the Andrea Doria which contained a young girl. I can't remember how old she was, but when the crew found her, they couldn't understand what she was saying. (She was Italian). I'll see if I can dig out the book.

Thanks Hawkeye, bound to be the same person as I dont think that would happen twice. I think it was an amazing story but couldnt remember all the details. Diminishing grey cell problem, refuse to believe I am getting old.

This is a link to the story of the young girl (Linda Morgan) that was transferred from her bed of the Andrea Doria to the bow of the Stockholm. It also has a current May 2007 picture of her.

Thanks for the information about the ship. I always found the story of the girl rather amazing but couldnt remember all the details as I thought she was much younger. Strange quirk of fate that a ships bow can lift one girl from a cabin and yet kill her sister who shared the same cabin.
Thanks for the guidance on her, it reopens events for me.
