Following is another extract from front page ads in Sherborne, Dorchester & Taunton Journal and Wells, Bridgwater, and Tiverton Gazette newspaper dated 3 February 1859, which I found screwed up in a hole in a wall in my old house in Wellington, Somerset.

For interest, does anyone have any more information?



WINTER SERVICE Commencing 2nd Nov., 1858.

TO GUERNSEY AND JERSEY, From Weymouth, BY THE SOUTH WESTERN COMPANY'S FAST STEAM SHIPS "EXPRESS" OR "WONDER".

Leaving Weymouth on Mondays and Fridays, at Six in the morning and Returning from Jersey, (via GUERNSEY) on Tuesdays and Saturdays, at Seven in the morning.

FARES. - Weymouth to Guernsey or Jersey - 12s. second class; 18s first class

Double Journey Tickets available for One Month - 20s. second class; 30s. first class.

In addition to the above the Company's Packets sail from Southampton to Guernsey and Jersey, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at a quarter to Twelve, midnight; returning to Southampton on the same days.
