dredger "Hedwin" on the Tyne - looking for information

I have just uploaded one of the few pics of this smallish dredger to the main site Gallery that I took on a short cruise down the Tyne river on sunday the 9th of March.

The main reason why this craft interests me so much is the yellow crane which is apparently a Ruston-Bucyrus model of some kind but my attempts to contact Port of Tyne Authority or indeed posting on other forums to find out what model of crane I am looking at; have all failed. :(

Any details on the Hedwin dredger would be appreciated though. Its the first time I've actually seen it after over a dozen trips up and down the river. Maybe it covers the other local waterways as well as my own...

Thanks for any reply.

Regards

Gavin

There where two ships called Coquet Mouth, the first was built in 1927 and the second was a grab hopper dredger built in 1955.
I think you are probably referring to the second.
You will find a photo of her on website Esk Dredging - Dredgers.
Info available on Miramar Ship Index.
