Hi,
I am a longtime former railwayman with an interest in ships (which has lapsed to a great degree in recent years).
I have just discovered this site and from a short look am impressed with the knowledge and experience it contains. I am likely to be a user, rather than a contributor, simply due to lack of knowledge However, I will now attempt to attach a photo of the Melbourne tug James Paterson which I took 40 odd years ago just for practice - here goes!
Regards
Geoff

Geoff,
Welcome to SN from Suffolk, enjoy your time with us - it matters not on your experience, everyone has a tale to tell and a picture or two in an album somewhere, perhaps you should post the patterson in the Tugs gallery she looks an interesting vessel.

Welcome to the crew, Geoff.
You only need an interest in the sea and shipping to sail on this ship.
Join in and enjoy the voyage.

Thanks to each of you for the warm welcome I have received. I will put the 'James Paterson' photo in the 'tug' forum as suggested.
