Hi The MS Trinculo was a bulk carrier of 11205 gross tons, registered in London. I was a first trip junior on her. Sailed from Barry dock Dec. 1970 loaded iron ore in Canada and returned to Barry in Jan '71 where I paid off.

Technically an ore carrier she was part of our (BISCOre/BSC), then medium sized, fleet along with the Denholm 'Duns' /RS Dalgliesh Pennyworth etc......a good workhorse on a rough trade....always nice Masters.

I was on her 3/8/62 - 13/10/62 as JOS and again 26/11/65 - 27/12/65 as EDH
Enjoyed both trips, good crew and also a good feeder.

Three trips up the Great Lakes, then loaded coal in Norfolk V.A. for Rio De Janeiro, caught up in a dockers strike there for many weeks, during the Mardi Gras, good times.
Finally to Argentina to load grain for Germany, via The Azores for bunkers, and paid off in Smiths drydock in North Shields.

The old mans surname was Jarvis, but he went home on leave after 6 months or so,not sure who his relief was.He did however rejoin before the end of the trip, and was present to dish out the DRs,(as he promised he would).

Hi

I'm researching Prospero particularly her three visits to Smith's where my father worked on her as an engine fitter. The dates he has in his log show Prospero was at North Shields Feb 15 and Mar 16 1962, May 17 1964. If there's anyone out there who remembers her in Smith's, I'd be grateful for any information eg - work carried out on her.

Thanks
