Humber shipspotter

Hi,

I'm Mick and am from Hull.

Have been a shipspotter for around 20 years or so now. Had a bit of a break from it through the mid-90s but got back into it seriously in 2006.


My main interests are in the fishing fleets of the UK from the 1930's to date. With my main focal point of interest in the Hull and Grimsby fleets.

I do keep in touch with the local shipping too though, as we have quite a number of vessel movements here on the Humber each day. My favourite vessels that I like to see are the Offshore Support vessels and the numerous Russian Bulkers and timber carriers that visit on a regular basis.


I am mainly a photographer and shoot with Pentax 135 and Digital dSLR.
At home I have setup an AIS listening station and a VHF set.
