Alan, from Michigan, a warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia.
Chances are you'll be hearing from old shipmates before long.
We hope you find much of interest on SN.

Welcome back, Alan.
Looks like you've been away a while.
Not a Bankline or Hungry Hogarth's trip was it.[=P]
Find your way around the ship again and enjoy the voyage.

Hi Allan

Richard here from your days on the "Katsina"
There were four of us on our first trip to sea.
You, me(Richard Lysons), Les Hudson and David Cook.

Nice surprise to see your name come up on the site so I thought I would drop you a quick line to say hello.

Hope all is well with you and perhaps we can catch up on missing years.

All the best old friend. Have a good New Year.

Hi Alan
Many seamen from Tilbury sailed with Palm Line but I am sure there was only one cadet from that area -Keith Hammerman.

Hello Stan,

I am sure this lad was from the London Area,I remember being in college with him at the shoreside establishmant of HMS Worcester, after the old lady
had finished as a college.Come to think of it now he went to Lagos Palm, and sure his name was Paul Fuller.Commodore Phillips in command.

Cheers, Have a great new year

Hi Allen

Always thought there were 4 of us on that first trip. Long time ago and the memory cells start to merge.
I posted a reply to scottie dogs thread (Palm Line) as he was after the names of the people in the photo at Lagos.
Les Hudson and myself are on the left hand side.
Take a look as it might jog your memory.
As to your other questions, will post a private reply shortly and catch up on the missing years.
I have also dug out some old photos (yellowing with age) and will add them to my profile as soon as I can work out the way to do it. All the best for now.

Certain that I did go to an expats house in Lagos, and indeed with you and Les
Holt, and also leaving there to look for entertainment in Imperial Palace Hotel
but wether it was that nignt or not, have not got a clue.I seem to remember leaving there with Colin Towse, who was AB handyman at the time, and the next trip from Newport was Bosun. The old Bosun I think paid off with Malaria.

Have to leave office now to see to a ship sailing for Diliskelesi Turkey.

Speak Soon - Ps Happy Birthday to me ! ! ! Ha Ha and still working.! ! !
