Converting video

Hi fella's,
I am looking for a way to convert some footage of a Avro Lancaster that I took last week, to a good quality in both sound and vision. Every way I've tried it the sound comes out awful, or the video is much too large.
I tried Camstasia 4, it failed to produce good quality.
Any programs I should be trying out?

Is it from tape or digital?
I use Pinnacle Studio version 9 although I believe there is a version 10.
If it's filmed in HD you might have a problem but standard 625 line stuff should be relatively small on a PCscreen.
Cheers

Although they are primarily concerned with restoring old Dr.Who tapes, the forum at http://www.rtforum.co.uk is full of industry experts who will know the best way of doing this.

Cheers fella's, thanks for the help. I have now uploaded the Lanc video's to YouTube, the link to see them for better or worse is the Mess Deck under {A bit off topic Avro Lancaster].
Have a look and see what you think.

They look fine.
Nice to hear the sound of 4 merlins but I prefer the sound of 4 Bristol Hercules.
Fred and Harold have done a great job at East Kirkby. In another life I met Fred when he was thinking of starting the thing up. Great bloke.
Cheers

Try looking in this direction, all open source (free)hundreds of them.
I've been using this for all my required programs.
eg OpenOffice.org equivalent to MS Office but free
