Umbra. Submarine built 1941 and scrapped 1946.
Tribune. Submarine built 1938 and scrapped 1947.
Upshot. Submarine built 1944 and scrapped 1949.
Tantivy. Submarine built 1943 and expended as a target 1951.
It would be well worth your while dropping a line to the Submarine Museum at HMS Dolphin, Gosport, Hampshire as they do have some very good record cards regarding former submariners.

Tommy Welcome to SN from Suffolk, heres a little on one of your Grandads old subs
Tantivy : T class sub Click Here (http://www.naval-history.net/xGM-Chrono-12SS-07T-Tantivy.htm)
From this page click top right on either contents or NH.net and have a look around
Umbra : HERE (http://www.uboat.net/allies/warships/ship/3545.html)
and for more on U and T class subs in general see HERE (http://submariners.co.uk/Boats/Barrowbuilt/UV_Class/)
A chap called Derek Walters has written an excellent book on the History of the U-class subs : title - The history of the British U-class submarine, perhaps your local library could get you a copy or alternatively they are can be obtained from pen and sword the publishers.
