It should be noted that this vessel should be referred to HMAS rather than HMS, it not being a unit of the Royal Navy.
The two photos both appear in the Official History of the RAN in WW1. Captions confirm that they are at Portsmouth and the Forth Bridge, but no dates.
Paying off date for the Australia was 12 December 1921.
