The Torbay Lifeboat crew who were involved with Ice Prince shout were on GMTV this morning. They been nominated for a Pride of Britain award in the Emergency Services category which is being supported by GMTV. They are in the category with 3 other Emergency Services.
You can vote from 06.00 19.09.08 until 00.00 22.09.08. Please vote for them, they deserve it.

Voted for the Lifeboat men at 15.45. one attempt got the vote in. Best luck with the vote.

I have just voted for the lifeboatmen, no problem. Difficult choice to make as they all deserve an award.

It was announced on GMTV this morning that the Torbay Crew have won the Pride of Britain award.
Congratulations to all of them, thoroughly deserved.
The Pride of Britain awards will be on ITV1 on Wednesday 1st October at 8pm.

I watched the programme and was annoyed to see the Olympics people getting top billing as sporting heroes. When one had seen what other people had done, at enormous personal risk or sacrifice to help others, to see them get pride of place for helping no-one but themselves, and be well paid for doing it, to me, devalued the awards that everybody else got.
There. Grumpy old man moment over, for now .....

I am going to hate myself for having to agree with you for once LOL.
Like you I couldn't unnderstand why the Olympic team were there. Also I felt the program was being used for political propaganda.

Yes, those slimy toads gaining political capital by insinuating themselves into the programme, quite frankly, I found nausiating.
