Kenuta Pics

Hello to all. I really am hoping someone can come up with a picture or two of the PSNC vessel Kenuta. I joined this ship in January 1964 at KG5 docks as a deck boy straight out of Vindicatrix. All I have is a very old and tattered company post card and would like to have a decent pic.
Any help would be appreciated (Thumb)

Hi Dicamus (Wave)

If you go to the below website, there is a picture of a Kenuta, which I hope is the same vessel you want. Its in black and white and not so clear. However there is a member of this forum, a Ron someone ( I think he comes from Scotland, but keep that quiet ) (Smoke) who lives in a bat cave and who is a marvel on cleaning pictures, I am sure he can imrove this one.

Many thanks Chris. Yes same ship but mine is clearer so I will send to the batcave once I find out how to do so.
So over to you Ron. How big a jpg file. According to Photoshop the pixel dimensions give a size of 21mb. Is that too large to send?
Regards
Dick

Thats a pretty good picture ... according to flags displayed, she is on speed trials, most probably off Greenock... I have a B&W shot of her entering Callao
in 1953 and will post it later today when one off my lads get home...I am still floundering with posting on the computer and other stuff of course! Snowy

I lied!... removed pic from my album and find it is "Cotopaxi" maiden voyage
entering Callao 22 Jun 1954 (sister ship to "Kenuta"). pulled another pic.and that one is "Flamenco" entering Valparaiso on maiden voyage Jun 1952. I will check the Gallery and. if no pics of these ships I will post them. Snowy.

I served on the Kenuta , from Feb '54 to Jun '56, last 3 trips as bosun. After which I felt I deserved a rest! & joined the Queen of the fleet Reina Del Mar as QM & Bosun'smate. Ron Hamilton , Tokoroa ,NZ

Try the following site there are a few shots of the Kenuta, including two unusual ones where the funnel cowl is absent,http://www.photoship.co.uk/JAlbum/Old%20Ship%20Picture%20Gallery%20K-Z/
