Does anyone have any memory's/ story's of the above. Ended his seafaring days with FT Everard. Started his career as a deckhand on tramp steamers.

Its just a thought but have you any idea of dates / ships with which to connect Captain Peacocks` seagoing career, it might help members delve into memory banks........

Started on SS Ganges doing tramp work west indies and pacific circa 1930's
ended in late 70's with Everards

i'm sure i sailed with him on the fred everard in 1973,where i joined as galley boy in rothseay dock in glasgow.white haired guy from south of england somewhere.good patter.i vaguely remember him.

i sailed with a capt.peacock on a gordie tramp ss generton of r.chapman of newcastle.I was the sparks on a trip to the argentine. She had no running water and it had an open wheelhouse ..... that was in sept 1953. I think that his initials were n.w.peacock and he was a gordie as was most of the crew. jack higginson

I sailed with Captain Bill Peacock in 1959 - 61 on the Scorton , i was an apprentice with Chatty Chapmans
he gave me a stern lecture when i told him i was packing in the Merchant Navy
I have the ships crew lists with his name on

his name was W H Peacock
His wife was Evelyn and he lived at 11 Mount Pleasant rd, Whitby
don't know his exact birthday but he was 44 in april 1959
his merchant navy number was R86374

I sailed as Mate with Captain Norman Peacock on the Apricity July 1977.
