I am an American who many years ago (1958) made one trip as an apprentice on the Swedish freighter ANTONINA, built 1952 in Sweden, home port of Stockholm,Sweden, Brodin Line of Sweden in the North & South American east coast run. I beleive the ship was later sold to the DDR & her name was ZSCHOPAU homeport of Rostock. I am trying to locate photos of her as the ANTONINA, & what finally became of her.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Fair weather, Andilar

Antonina later became Loullia and is still around. However she is shipwrecked on Gordon reef in the gulf of Aqaba and a popular site to visit when diving or snorkeling in the area. She went aground in September 1981 whilst on her way in ballast to Suez. Rumour has it that the Russian captain was somewhat "marinated" in vodka. Here is a link to a thread on Landgangen where I have posted a few pics I took of her in January.

If you have any material on her as Antonina I would be very happy to see it.

Kind regards
