Will have a look, may well have something in the collection here.
My father used to tell a good tale of the Captain (Commander Kerens?) who visited the London Brewer that my father used to work for after the Yangste incident. Was very interested in the beer brewing, but much more interested in the decanting and sampling of the port they used to import from Portugal, they apparently couldnt get him to go and no one was game to enough to say anything to him.

Simon was promoted to A/B after killing Mao Tse-tung.. well there's a thing and history could have been taken a different course had this Mao not been a rat (oh the temptation to say something now like a pantomime retort....)

There was a particularly large, bold and vicious rat that, together with his band of followers, was causing havoc with the supplies; the crew had named him 'Mao Tse-tung'. Many attempts were made to trap him, as it was felt that Simon, in his weakened state, would not be able to cope with him: but he had evaded the traps. However, one day the animals came face to face: Simon sprang first and killed the rat outright. The delighted crew hailed him as a hero, and he was promoted to Able Seacat Simon! the feline equivalent of Able Seaman.
