Someone asked me today if I could remember the name of the Chinese retaurent we all used ashore in Labuan, do seem to recall that it had been shut down for a while by the local health authorities when I arrived in 82.

It was an ex RO who asked, his memory box must be of the same standard as mine!!

I always knew it as "The Flying Bottle" (Pint) . . . was it something like "The Victoria"? Or am I as bad as you with memory??

The one we used was the Bay View. Only the locals were allowed knives and forks. We all learned to use chopsticks pretty quick or you went hungry.
Sizzling fried prawns and chicken with cashew nuts were the specialities if I remember correctly

That's it !! - The Bay View (Thumb) . . . still mostly knew it as The Flying Bottle though.
