Here is one that I have not come across before; Trinity House lost their records in WWII; were there any crew lists, and would they be in the 'usual places' for other crew lists. The gentleman has a suspicion as to which lightships [Goodsands, St Nicholas or Inner /Outer Dowsing] but no proof.
Where would he start? Please any help at all would be welcome. Would there be any parallel records that he could track down?

I worked on a Trinity House ship at Harwich 1n 1954, as far as I can remember we didn't sign articles, so there wouldn't be crew lists as normal merchant ships would have. This would be the same for lightships. The Masters of light ships passed Trinity House examinations so there would not be a record of those. The only place I can think of for getting advice on this would be Trinity House, they would know if any records were saved through regional offices rather than Tower Hill in London

That is a good point - thank you; he believes he was based at Great Yarmouth.
