Hello,
Just joined this site and would like to hear from any ex Palm Liners. I was a Lekie on the Ikeja, Ilesha & Kano from 1977 - 1980 and have loads of good memories of time spent on the west coast.

Look forward to swapping a few tales about those days!

Hi Matt and welcome from all, especially the old Palm Liners, just checked my Discharge Book and was on the "Kano" 4/6/77 to 12/9/77, 23/9/77 to 10/2/78 and 10/2/78 to 27/2/78 otherwise was on different vessels during your time. Enjoy the site. Kind Regards, David Wilson.

Hi Matt
I was on the Kano in 1977 as 2nd lekie , I joined after a voyage on the Katsina and went on to the Apapa [I joined her in Lagos when she was still the Schoenberg].
I have memories of going up the river to Sapele , and going up the Congo to Matadi on the Kano.
In fact we did most ports from Takaradi to Matadi ,both ways
cheers
Chris

Anybody in Palm Line sailed with Willis Thompson, Chief Steward.
My wife's cousin.
I attach a photograph, Willis on the right.
