Hi,
When I worked at BAE Systems many years ago, a friend emailed me scans of ocean liners from vintage encyclopedias. I lost the pictures for a long while but have now found them languishing on a backup CD. They're on my website at http://www.paullee.com/Ship_Pictures/

Cheers

Paul

The "Collision Preventer" is certainly interesting - a sort of sound based radar.

Not so sure about the "funnel-less liner" though - the exhaust from the oil engines seems to discharge at promenade deck level. Cough! Splutter!

Not to mention the palatial crows nest; big enough for a sofa and vending machine!
