I have just joined and wondered if any one knows where I can get a crew list of the Hindostan for the voyage London to Auckland NZ , Captained by Robert Peek arriving on 28th December 1873. There was subsequently a court case involving 6 crew who were charged with a breach of the Merchant Shipping Act. A witness , the purser, was listed as Harry Hall Dickson and I suspect he was my great grandfather Harry Hall Dix would there be any records anywhere?

Welcome aboard from northern England, Mary.
If you know the ship's official number than a search of the Canadian archive may tell you if they have them.
Find your way around and get to know the crew.
Have a good voyage.
