Old Grimsby Seaman

I am researching my Grandfather, Charles Jackson, who was apprenticed in 1890 and died at Fryston House, Grimsby in 1957.
I have tried all sorts of sites to find out any more information about his life on the ocean waves, to no avail. Making a trip to TNA to look up WW1 activity, is not an option at this stage. He was with RNR T in WW1.
Are there online lists of Grimsby Skippers and their trawlers?
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Buddy2,

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/grimsby.trawlers/index.htm

There is a list of rimsby skippers on the above site but there is no mention of a Charles Jackson.

It may be worth you trying the Lincolnshire archives and see if they have any info.

Graham
