family history - Frank Parkinson

13th February 2010, 15:05
I am trying to find out anything which will help me with my research into my grandfather and the ships he worked on during his life time.

Although I did not live in Grimsby, my mother did, until her marriage and we spent many times as children at the fish docks and watching the men work. The last of my family in Grimsby died recently and I now have some documentation about Frank Parkinson (Parko). His port record book shows that his last ship was the Ross Hunter (formally Junella) in 1961. His son was also called Frank and his wifes name was Annie. I remember he was injured on board ship some years before and spent time in hospital in Iceland (I think)
Does anyone remember him or can help with any information about his ships or his life in general.
