My father sailed as Skipper on Aberdeen trawlers in the 40s 50s and 60s.
he skippered many trawlers but the one which I associate most with him is the George Robb as he was skipper for many years.

When it was taken out of service to be converted from steam to diesel another Skipper took her out on the first trip as Dad was at sea on another trawler.
She was lost off Duncansbay Head along with most of Dad's crew who were all friends.

I have been interested in family history for many years- I am on the committee of the Family History Society of Buchan.

I have photograhs of most of Dad's trawlers and almost a complete list of all the Robb boats - while browsing looking for info came across your site and found it fascinating - many thanks.
