Hi I was a navigating apprentice then third mate for Houlders - First ship was Brandon Priory in 1969 then several others. Spent 18 months running to South America on St Merriel before she was laid up. Very lucky in that I stood by in London on the Royston Grange before her fateful collision in the Plate. Anyone sailed with me out there?

A warm welcome Steve. As you may recognise from my Avatar, I am a retired shipbuilder who at one time worked for Hawthorn Leslie, the builder of many of the ships you sailed on. There are a lot of ex-Houlder folk on this site and I am sure you will feel at home.
