Glen here,White Rock B.C. I've been quite obsessive about the old liners, started with reading A Night to Remember in grade 5, and doing a west coast cruise on the Arcadia in '70.A few years back I gathered some like-minded friends to witness Canberra as she left Canada Place on her final world cruise,on her way to the breakers. We followed her departure,3 viewpoints along the way, in my 65 Pontiac, until she cleared the Lions Gate Bridge, and we broke out the champagne and toasted a grand lady of the sea.
There were no other ships in,as this was winter,Alaska season months away, but Canberra sure looked petite compared to the mega-liners we are used to for the Alaska season.
