This is an incredibly long shot but when I was in Longyearbyen in 1974 a dense pall of black smoke hove into sight and under it was a coal fired steam tug with an ice breaking bow and the hammer and sickle on the funnel.
I wish I could remember her name but I do recall that her builder's plate read, "Denny Bros. Dumbarton" and I seem to think that the year of build was before the Revolution.
Could anyone identify her for me?
