Butesshire sank 1897 in Sweden

Hi, im intrested of info on the ship Butesshire / Buteshire, she was a steamer from South Shields, England and sank outside the Swedish coast in 1897, close to Nyköping, in the newspaper from 1897 they have dated 1897-11-15 as the day she sank, but in the next article the say 1897-08-21 as the date of the sinking! I hope there are somebody who can help my find information about the ship!

BUTESHIRE (1877- 1889) Iron steamship.
O.N. 78558. 1,332g. 872n. 260.3 x 32.3 x 22.7 feet.
C.2-cyl. (30" & 48" x 78") engine made by Walker, Henderson & Company, Glasgow. 467 NHP.
10.1877: Launched by Wm. Hamilton & Company, Port Glasgow (Yard No. 41) for Turnbull, Martin & Company, Glasgow.
1877: Completed.
1889: Sold to Wm. Runciman & Company, S.Shields. 1890: Transferred to S. Shields Steamship Company Ltd., (Wm. Runciman & Company,managers). 1896: Transferred to Moor Line Ltd., (same managers). 15.11.1897: Whilst on a ballast voyage from Swinemunde to Oxelsund, stranded between Hafringe and Landsort Lighthouse, and became a total loss.

Thanks for the quick help with info of the ship, I found a picture of the ship on the internet, this summer our diving club will go to the wrecksite and dive on the remanings of the ship!

The photograph you posted is of a later vessel of the same name

Then we hawe to try to find a new photograph of the vessel, it is more fun to dive on a wreck when you have a picture to compere with! Thanks for the help, "BillH"!! Maybe someone hawe a correct photo wich the can chare with us!
