The ship is currently still in Eidfjord. She is due to be towed to Bergen for further assessment of her damage. All 607 passengers & crew were evacuated safely yesterday without injury.

There is a report here, in Norwegian, with a video report of the ship as the fire burned. It was first discovered around 1030am and was finally extinguished at 5pm.

Passengers were taken to local hotels to spend last night and will be flown home today.

The ship was due in Hamburg tomorrow to start her next cruise, a round Britain sailing ending June 7 which has now been cancelled.

Oh dear. Deilmann's finances have been very fragile since the death of its founder, Peter Deilmann, a couple of years ago. I hope that they survive this blow.
