Latest news:
Just received a phonecall; The Stella Rigel is now towed by the tug Anglegarth to Swansea,probably reason for this accident:engine problems caused by heavy weather conditions.

SvitzerWijsmuller Salvage completes operations to safe STELLA RIGEL



SvitzerWijsmuller Salvage B.V. this morning 5/11 successfully towed the STELLA RIGEL into the Swansea locks. The vessel was thereafter safely moored alongside the quay in the port at 09.50 UTC by Svitzer Marine tugs ANGLEGARTH, who took the vessel in tow just before she would run aground in bad weather, and the WARRIOR. Operations executed under command of the SvitzerWijsmuller salvage master and his team.

STELLA RIGEL (Netherlands) Following received from Coastguard Swansea MRCC, timed 0932, UTC: Tow of asphalt tanker Stella Rigel passed to tug Warrior 3 and she has been towed into Swansea Docks. Locked in at 0805, UTC, and now in Swansea Docks attempting to go alongside. Search and rescue operations terminated 0805, UTC.
