Clan Ogilvy (built 1896)

Does anyone have a photo in a book or album of the 1896 built Clan Ogilvy that they could scan and send to me. Clan Line vessels were often seen at Napier between 1909 and 1927 mostly loading wool for the U.K. under charter to G.H. Scales & Co.

She is the only Napier caller from Clan Line that I don't have a photo of. If you are able to help, I prefer scans of at least 300 dpi (a bit to big to post on this site) and they can be emailed to me at tonyd@portofnapier.co.nz

Hi Tony ...

I only chanced upon your post yesterday, I have searched my PC collection, the only Clan Ogilvy I have is the 1914 vessel.

If you take a look at Tony Blackler's 'Clan Line in Photographs' Vol 1, there is a pic of the Clan Menzies of 1896, a sister of the one you are looking for.

In Duncan Hawes' Clan Line book in the Merchant Fleets in Profile series, there is a line drawing of the Ogilvy.

Hope this helps ....

Cheers

Andy

I don't know if they are still in print, but they are often available "as new" on eBay, just put "clan line" into the search box.

I've just taken a look (31/08 at 1100 UK time) :

Vol 1 - Item number: 180021850111
Vol 2 - Item number: 180021849972

Both 4.50 + 1.30 p&p (Buy it now)

Good luck

Cheers

What Clan MacInnes? 1907, 1920 or 1952.

Also there are line drawings of most Clan ships in Merchant Fleets by Duncan Haws.

I have some old Clansman magazines, I will look in there for photos, there was an issue with a lot of Clan ship photos.
