Taken in London in the 60s this Greenock built ship which had a spell with the South African Marine Corporation before being returned to British and Commonwealth Group.

Nice one Fairfield,
Don't recall ever having seen her. My time with U-C was 1961/62
London Docks looks pretty empty.......

She was built as CLAN ROSS then became SOUTH AFRICAN SCIENTIST before becoming a B&C unit again as KINNAIRD CASTLE.

Fairfield,
Great picture, I have a feeling that Clan Stewart also went to Safmarine, there were changes, just after I left Clan Line

She was a lovely ship and as Kinnaird Castle was a cadet training ship too.
She was scrapped in 78.
Clan Line had several of these type of vessel and were very comfortable as most of the officers had ex passenger cabins with bathroom too! A luxury at the time.
Some like the Kinnaird were steam ships so very quiet too!

My first ship as a deck cadet. Joined her in SW India dock London in July 1966. Cadets didn't have such luxurious accom as the Officers did. My cabin was next to the boiler room! Hot as h*ll in the tropics. Did just over 7 months on her but enjoyed every minute of it!
