Great pic Tonyd. She is the last steam turbine passenger ship ever built, by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in 1984. With the current price of oil, she is an endangered species.

Great pic, tonyd. She is my favourite cruise ship, I've sailed on her twice. Hoping to do a round-NZ cruise later next year.
Being a steam ship she's so smooth to ride in - no vibrations, unlike Pacific Sun, her 'sister'. (ex-Jubilee)

Looks like I won't be able to do a round-NZ cruise on her as I'd hoped- Pacific Sky has been sold to Pullmantur Cruises as of May 2006..and Carnival are sending Regal Princess to Oz to replace her in 2007. Sad to see Sky go :@

I dont know that P&O Cruises would be too sad to see her go...she must have cost a fortune to keep going in recent times.

Has she not just had a refit in Brisbane - Forgacs??? If this is the same ship - there are a few storeis to tell!

Yes Dox it is the same vessel to my knowledge...and yes there are numerous stories to tell.
