Just go along to www.bookfinder.com where you will find three of them. The only problem is that the cheapest is 202.79, so it must have been a very good book!

The book has a rarity value that some booksellers are exploiting - The quoted figure of 202.79 is just crazy money. When I last was searching for the same book I could have got one for about 60 but I thought that too much.
For any Members of IMarEST - (formally the Institute of Marine Engineers,) they have/had a copy that I was able to borrow.
I had first read the book in the early 1960's when I found it in the Seafarer's Library on a Brocklebank ship. Three years or so ago I decided to revisit a book that i had thoroughly enjoyed all those years ago. I have to admit that while of interest the book did not have the same impact on me as it did all those years ago.

Dear GeeM
Did you manage to find a copy of 'Backward Thinking'? I must say I was horrified to see how much the seller wanted for a copy. I wonder if you knew there was the standard edition and then there were fifty copies of the family edition printed. These later copies had an extra four chapters: two at the beginning and two at the end and were intended for close family and friends. Perhaps the book of sale is one of these.

God almighty, have just read about the request for the John Lamb book.
Talk about bad luck,it was only last week i cleaned out my attic and turfed out a pile of books INCLUDING that particular book, yep!! straight down the tip for re-cycling!! anyone intersted in wading through the bins at the tip would have a bit of a job.60 for a book would have been a nice little earner!!! With my luck if Marilyn Monroe had had triplets i would have been the one on the bottle!!!!!!

Downloaded Mr. Hudsons piece using Facebook so did not have to pay to join docstoc which would not be worth while for me. Thanks.
