Carnival Corp order 4 more cruise ships

Carnival Corporation has placed an $2 billion order with Fincantieri for another four new cruise ships. These are for the following brands:

An 86,000 grt 2044 passenger Panamax ship for Holland America.
A sister of Emerald Princess for Princess. 116,000 grt, 3100 passengers.
A new design for Carnival at 130,000 grt with 3,608 passengers.
A sister of Costa Concordia for Costa. 112,000 grt 3004 passengers.

All four ships will be delivered in 2008 and 2009.

Carnival Corporation currently operates 79 cruise ships with 137,000 combined lower berth capacity. It now has 16 further ships on order.

Sorry for the delay in replying Fred but my BT Broadband went down on Christmas Eve. Good timing. They "Hope to look at the problem this week".
Like all big shipping organisations, Carnival Group, use a variety of flags. Carnival Cruise Line ships are usually registered in Panama. Princess use Bahamas or Bermuda. Holland America usually use Dutch West Indies and Costa use Italian registration.
