I have been trying in New Zealand to find the book "Before the Box Boats" written by captain W.A.Kinghorn, and first published in 1987, but have had no luck in my search, so I was wondering if any fellow members could advise me where in U.K. I could find it.

Might want to follow up reading about ships, cargo and life before the box with a look at how breakbulk cargo has survived the box and is actually shipped in more weight terms than containerized cargo! Fact!
Read about today's sophisticated breakbulk shipping operations with world-wide quasi liner breakbulk operations of heavy lift, project, dry bulk parcels, wheeled cargo, forest products that support the multipurpose fleet of forward ship operators who have never given in to the container myth.
Book: "The Fundamentals of Breakbulk Shipping"
