I started on cruise ships in the early "70's" Maxim Gorki Emerald Seas ect. as a staff member. went from diamonds to coal dust with the SIU
and never looked back! I currently sail on ocean towing tugs with Crowley Puerto Rico Services towing 580 Foot Triple deck container barges from Philadelphia to Puerto Rico.

I sailed for the Royal Viking Line in 1973 -1976, I was onboard the Royal Viking Star. I visited the Maxim Gorkiy once when we were in the same port.

I can't help but wonder if that was in Nassau. I visited the Royal Viking Star there. Beautiful ship. I believe it was 1974 or 75

We were definitely in Nassau a few times in 1974/75 so it could of been there, but something in the back of my mind is saying Amsterdam (maybe). I am sure that we had a game of football (soccer) with the Maxim Gorkiy crew.
