Alan1958,

on behalf of the Moderating team welcome to SN. If you do not have any replies to your request here it may well be an idea to make a thread in the Fishing vessels Forum.

Hi Alan, if memory serves me correctly, it was one of 4 vessels built in the 1970's at Brooke Marine in Lowestoft for the Ranger Fishing Co of North Shields.
I remember the Ranger Cadmus, Calliope were two of them.
When their names were changed, they became the Afghan, Arab, Gaul and Pict.
Hope this helps.

Sorry Alan, forgot to mention the two German vessels, mentioned above by one of our colleagues.
One was named the Blankenese and the other the Fritz Homan, re-named Ranger Boreas and Ranger Brisiese.
Ranger also had an "A" class, Ajax and Achilles, I think there was a third but my memory fails me on that one.
Cheers,
Mally
