Fairmile D class Chatham

came across a referance to this boat on another site, anyone got any info on her, i belive shes currently un-restored and possibly abandoned, photos would be nice

I wonder if she is one of the war boats in the outside sheds at Chatham dockyard. Just a thought as there is a few in there

The Fairmile "D" at Chatham was the ex MTB 683 that was transferred to the RAF in 1945.
She then became LRRC 030 (Long Range Rescue Craft - 030).
She was sold - eventually to become a floating restaurant, very shortly after which she caught fire and burnt out. More can be seen from HERE (http://www.bmpt.co.uk/forum_posts.asp?TID=169)

I'll have a wee look around the sheds first time I am down at the model shop in the dockyard.
I think Colin Bishop of Model Boats done a piece on these sheds before M.B. covered the opening of the new rebuilt part of the dockyard.
Was it called No 1 Smithy ???
