One of the Engineers thought it was great sport to stand on the boat deck in foggy weather.

He would get close to the funnel and, as the hooter was blown (for the fog) he would shout "F ...Off" as loud as he could.

Don't know what he got out of that!

There were some, on the bridge, who seemed to have cottoned on to this act of desecration, and they would try to cut the funnel whilst he was in mid shout.

Don't remember if it worked...!
